The Katahdin Area "Flock of Eagles" at the Gathering of Eagles event!
Special Guest Speaker, James Terry, Assistant Chief Scout Executive, BSA
The Katahdin Area Council held a successful "Gathering of Eagles event on Saturday April 24th. The event was attended by well over 100 Eagles Scouts, Scouters friends and family. The event was held in the Peter G. Vigue Scout Center and Dining Lodge at Camp Roosevelt in Eddington. Pictured below is Mr. James Terry, Assistant Chief Scout executive for the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Terry spoke to the group and delivered a powerful message to all. Other Special guests included Distinguished Eagle Scout, Ralph Leonard, the only Distinguished Eagle Scout in the State of Maine. Master of Ceremonies and event Co-Chairman for the evening was James Campbell who moved the dinner along a smooth pace. Co-Chairman Peter Daigle spoke about what Scouting had meant in his life and provided some stories of earning his Eagle Rank in Fort Kent. The evening dinner was catered by Jeff's Catering of Brewer. Special thanks to Bill and Marty Leavitt who represented the Historical Society of the Katahdin Area Council and shared memorabilia with the group and with registration.
