Types of Cub Scout Training
- Cub Scout Leader Fast Start:
- For all registered adult Cub Scout leaders. Learn the basics necessary for you to start
your new position in Scouting. Fast Start provides you with immediate information in the
objectives and resources to help new leaders get a good start. You should view this tape
as soon as possible. There are five different videos: Cubmaster, Pack Committee, Den
Leader, Webelos Leader, Tiger Cub Coach.
- Cub Scout Leader Basic Training:
- A series of separate sessions designed to give job-related information to all Cub Scout
Leaders. The training is held as either a one-day training (Saturday) or a two-evening
course. All leaders attend a joint session and then split up into different sessions
according to their position; Pack Leaders, Den Leaders, Webelos Leaders and Tiger Cub
Coach.
- Cub Roundtable:
- Held monthly, provides pack leaders with additional training. Come join in on the fun
and fellowship while learning about the upcoming month's theme and the upcoming events in
the district. Roundtable meets in the Ellsworth Middle School (in Ellsworth),
at 7 PM, the 2nd Thursday of each month. Contact person: Don Krason, 288-5076,

- Webelos Outdoor:
- A training session offered for Webelos Leaders that covers the outdoor section in the
Webelos program. This training is offered on the Council calendar.
- Den Leader Coach:
- Leaders to serve as den leader coaches within their packs must attend basic training and
also a one-day den leader coach training session to be considered trained for the
position. Den Leader Coaches must have certain qualifications as outlined in the Cub Scout
Leader Book.
- Den Chief Training:
- Training for Scouts acting as, or soon to be Den Chiefs.
Types
of Boy Scout Training
- Scout Leader Fast Start:
- For all registered adults. A video for new leaders, committee members and interested
parents. The video consists of three segments; The Troop Meeting, The Outdoor Program and
The Troop Organization. Boy Scout Leader fast start is a prerequisite for the
Scoutmaster Fundamentals course. Designed to give an overview of successful troop
operations.
- Boy Scout Roundtable:
- Share program ideas, gain valuable training, designed to support all levels of troop
leadership. Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Ellsworth
Middle School in Ellsworth at 7 PM.
- Scoutmaster Fundamentals:

Good training for all adults active in the unit,
especially necessary for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters,
as well as members of the Committee. A three-part training course for Boy Scout Leaders.
It includes: "Troop Meeting" (six hours), "Troop Organization" (two
hours), "The Outdoor Program" (1½ days - weekend overnight).
