Wichagowick Chapter Brothers,

Service Project Details

Purpose:
1)   to assist a worthy Hancock County organization
2)   to do our part to help Pamola Lodge qualify for Quality Lodge
3)   to provide a chapter service project to help Wichagowick Chapter Brothers qualify for the Leadership in Service individual award

Date: Sunday, November 4, 2007

Location: Great Pond Mountain Wildlands, East Orland, Maine

Time: Work starts at 9 am. Some of us will work until 3 pm (in order to perform the 6 hours of chapter service required for the Leadership in Service award)

Project: Cleaning out the ditches and culverts along roads in the Wildlands to prevent washouts during the winter and spring.

What to wear:   Work clothes and sturdy shoes. The weather is turning cooler. Dressing in layers is suggested.

What to bring:
1)      water and snacks
2)      gloves
3)      appropriate tools:  rakes, shovels, hoes if you have them.

Special instructions:

*  Lunch will be provided by the very generous and appreciative Wildlands volunteers.

*  If you are familiar with the Wildlands, proceed to the South Gate.  If you aren't familiar with the area and you're driving from Ellsworth to Bucksport on Route 1 & 3, about 9 miles from Ellsworth turn right onto a gated dirt road just beyond the intersection of Rt. 176 (on the left) and Rt. 1 & 3.  I'll try to find better instructions and get them to you.

*  If you need a ride, please let me know and we'll try to arrange some transportation.  No guarantees, but we will have Wichagowick Chapter Brothers coming from all over Hancock County.

*  If the weather is steady rain, the work day will be postponed and re-scheduled.

Very  Important:  Please let me know if you are going to participate by emailing the Chapter Advisor.

Very Very Important:   We switch from Daylight Savings Time to Eastern Standard Time in the wee hours of Sunday morning  -  set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night.

See you there!
