2007 Race to Cub Scouting
CUB SCOUT MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN
The track is being prepared for the 3 rd
Annual Race to Cub Scouting
Membership Campaign. District Program Kickoff meetings are
scheduled during August and Pack Leaders are encouraged to
attend these important meetings. A postcard will be mailed to
every leader registered in the Council listing the Program
Kickoff locations. These postcards will be collected at each
location and a door prize will be given based on the number of
postcards entered in the drawing. Materials and information will
be presented on the Council's Popcorn sale and Pack/Troop
program planning for 2007-08 as well. These are must meetings
anyone involved in Pack/Troop program and especially for
Cubmasters and Scoutmasters. The Race to Cub Scouting begins
September 1st
and the Pack with the best
membership growth over goal in the Council will receive Akela
Pack Challenge Cup! |
2007 Pebble Beach Canoe Race
BOY SCOUT MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN
Congratulations go to Troop 184 of Caribou who
finish first in the 2007 Canoe Race to Pebble Beach. Vaughn
Keaton, Scoutmaster and crew had the best growth in Boy Scout
membership in the Council. Troops 25-Hermon, 41-Hampden and
50-Lincoln were all tied for second place. Third place were
Troops 56-Medway, 81-Franklin and 137-Addison. Other District
winners were Troop 215-Searsport and 235-Stockton Springs. 93
Webelos Scouts and 46 youth joined Boy Scouting during the
campaign which ended May 31 st.
The following Packs were named to the Webelos
Crossover Honor Roll for crossing 100% of their Webelos Scouts
into Boy Scouting: 179-Ashland, 8-Bangor, 25-Hermon,
44-Orrington, 215-Searsport, 55-East Millinocket and
66-Millinocket. |
