WEBELO-REE SEPTEMBER 29 - 30, 2007

Hey Cub Scout Leaders! The Webelo-ree is a Saturday full of fun and activities just for Webelos, giving them the opportunity to earn Webelos activity pins to jump start their Scouting year. The fun does not stop when the sun goes down Saturday night. There will be a boy run campfire with songs and skits. After the campfire, boys will retire to their campsites and enjoy a night of restful sleep. Sunday morning brings breakfast, Scouts own service, pack-up and head for home. It’s a mini-camporee just for Webelos. By the time boys become Webelos they have done the Cub Scout program for three years. They want to get outside and do scout stuff including camping. The Webelos program is one of transition from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouting. Boys begin to work as a patrol, working together for a common goal. Activities have included orienteering, bb shooting, archery, fitness, forestry and readyman. On September 29-30 the Katahdin Area Council will be holding its 3rd Annual Webelo-ree and WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need to know what your Webelos would like the event to be. We need people that will be willing to share their expertise and time with Webelos during this week-end AND we need people that are able and willing to work behind the scenes to help make the 3rd Annual Webelo-ree a success. People are al-ways needed that could help with medical, cooking, or all around.
