We’re Back!

Welcome to the new Wangan!

Our council’s newspaper will be fun, informative and colorful. It will focus on youth, units and program, "how to" stories and information, and district and council news. This paper issue is a start. Our vision is to create issues , make them available for printing on the council website. We intend to create an on line form that will allow anyone to easily send us their scouting news. Communication is key. We need stories and news.

The Wangan will only be a success if everyone participates.

Let’s do our best!

What's Happening in North Star

This edition of the Wangan is chock full of great information about Scouting in our Council. Our lead story describes the heroic actions of Scouts in Fort Kent during last week's flooding. We have a recap of last month's Pinewood Derby Championship. There's an update on all the coming events in the Order of the Arrow. Also inside are messages from our new Scout Executive, Gary Savignano, and our Council President Steve Frost. The recognition season is well under way as Districts gave out their Awards of Merit, Centennial Quality Awards are listed, and the Eagle Honor Roll is brought up to date. We have information on the Council Recognition banquet coming up in June. And we finish it off with a taste of North Star.

We will be looking to make the WANGAN a more regular presence in the near future, but to do so we are going to need contributions from Scouts and Scouters just like you. The hope is to make it a bi-weekly feature of our website, with everyone receiving an e-mail blast when it's ready.

But to cook the WANGAN stew properly, we need ingredients. We want to share your great stories about campouts, advancements, activities, awards, events, celebrations, announcements. We want your photographs, tips and tricks, funny stories, moving stories. In short, if something's going on in your unit or district that interests you, well, share it with the rest of the class.
